Every day, we make choices. Some of those choices have an impact on our families and communities; some may reach around the world. Our goal is to engage in sustainable business practices throughout our organization. Our focus is on the environment, wellness, community investment and ethical sourcing.

ABS has been built with the idea that a company can be successful in the service of its customers while being beneficial to the planet as a whole.

Our Big Thought

ABS is really about “Turning lemons, into lemonade” -- Since it will take long-term social change to stop the sources of pollution and contamination that affect our health, the logical answer is to mitigate the problems until greater solutions are implemented. Let’s just take our homes as an example:

There are estimated to be 126,000,000 residential dwellings in the USA alone. EPA data estimates that “on average, all indoor air is between 2 and 10 times dirtier than outdoor air”. That means 126,000,000 dwellings are taking in already polluted ambient air; and through the products of our lifestyles we use (including combustion sources such as oil, gas, kerosene, coal, wood, and tobacco products; building materials and furnishings, carpet, and cabinetry or furniture made of certain pressed wood products; products for household cleaning and maintenance, personal care, or hobbies; central heating and cooling systems and humidification devices; and outdoor sources such as radon, pesticides, and outdoor air pollution), making that air at least twice as bad as it was and then we send it back outside. Add in all of our other buildings and by sheer volume you can see the magnitude of the problem.

ABS can effectively turn our buildings into “lungs” for the environment and cleanse our indoor air before it goes back outside.
