George Peat

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Allied BioScience Inc., Canada

George is responsible for all functions of the Canadian business of Allied BioScience. He comes to the position with extensive start-up experience, in Canada and abroad, from inception to ongoing operations to project development. George is a professional engineer (retired) with experience in the refining and petrochemical sectors in Canada, the Far East, Europe and the former Soviet Union. He served as general manager for a large engineering company in the Middle East. George sits on the University of British Columbia Chemical/Biological Engineering Industry Advisory Council, the advisory board of SG Biofuels, a developer of renewable biofuels in Latin America and South America, and is a board member of SaltSpring Air, Industry Drones and St. George’s School Foundation.

Nigel Fisher, O.C.

Chief Operating Officer, Allied BioScience Inc., Canada

In his position, Nigel is focused on the development of Allied BioScience’s Canadian market research agenda and creating partnerships within the Canadian and international markets. Nigel has more than three decades of experience in international development and crisis response in more than a dozen countries on four continents. Prior to ABS, Nigel served with the United Nations, including several posts at the assistant secretary-general level, most recently as Regional UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis. He also served for five years as president and CEO of UNICEF Canada. Widely recognized as a Canadian humanitarian, Nigel has received numerous awards and honors, including the Order of Canada (Officer); the Meritorious Service Cross; the Order of Ontario; the Pearson Peace Medal; the Canadian Medical Association Medal of Honour; and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from his alma mater, McMaster University.

Our History

Allied BioScience is a company with deep roots in basic environmental science. Since its inception, the primary goal of ABS is to find a way to develop surface coating technology to create a formulation that provides a long-lasting solution to maintain clean surfaces.

By 2008, the company had enlisted the help of some of America’s leading scientific minds in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and material sciences to help formulate an effective and long-lasting surface coating that today is known as SurfaceWise. These respected scientists include well-known experts in surface-coating technologies.

Now under enhanced corporate leadership, ABS is an allied team of scientists and business professionals dedicated to bringing a new technology that redefines what it means to have a clean environment..

Board of Directors

Allied BioScience is governed by a distinguished board of directors who bring seasoned corporate experience and vision to ABS to assist in product development and business management. ABS’ board leverages this experience toward the common goal of creating best practices in the development of long-lasting surface protection technology.

Keith Tucker

Chairman of the Board

Keith is currently director and chairman of Century Bridge Capital, a real estate investment firm with offices in Dallas, Texas, and Beijing, China. He served as chairman and CEO of Waddell & Reed Financial Inc., a publicly held mutual fund complex (NYSE: WDR), bringing the firm’s assets under his management from $5 billion to more than $40 billion. Prior to this, Keith served as vice chairman of the board of Torchmark Corporation, a publicly held insurance, financial services and real estate development company (NYSE: TMK) and as a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Stefan Bernard Baumrin, Ph.D., J.D.

Stefan holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. He serves as an adviser to ABS and is a professor of medical education at the Mount Sinai Medical School, as well as a professor of philosophy at The Graduate Center at City University in New York. He is also a member of the Federal Bar and the Bar of the State of New York.

Hugh (Nick) Dallas

Co-Founder

Nick has served as director of Environmental Service Professionals Inc. and holds a Branch II and III operator’s license from the California Structural Pest Control Board. He is a member of the Indoor Environmental Standards Organization and is a certified IESO trainer. He assists ABS with field operations.

Daniel Moros, M.D.

Vice-Chairman, Scientific Affairs

Dr. Moros serves ABS as vice-chairman of scientific affairs. He is associate clinical professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His specialization is in movement disorders and behavioral neurology. He has spent many years in the pharmaceutical industry as vice chairman and medical director of Taro Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with responsibilities for generic and new drug development and regulatory affairs. In addition to being published in numerous publications in medical ethics and the philosophy of medicine, Dr. Moros has co-taught a graduate course in medical ethics at the City University of New York and Icahn School of Medicine for the last two decades.

Dick Rothkopf

Dick brings over 45 years of experience in building successful, innovative companies. Prior to joining the board of Allied BioScience, Dick founded and cofounded a number of highly successful companies including Rothkopf Enterprises, Stand-buys, Learning Curve International and Ludorum. Dick also serves on a number of other corporate and not for profit boards and is a graduate of Cornell University.

Michael Ruley

Chief Executive Officer

Before joining Allied BioScience, Michael spent his career as a leader in the telecom industry. He has served as CEO of Airband Communications, Sparkplug Communications and Hawaiian Telcom. He also held posts as president and CEO of NextiraOne and several senior positions at XO Communications and Teleport Communications Group. He currently serves as a board member of Tissue Genesis.

Craig Grossman

Chief Technical Officer, Founder and Chairman Emeritus

Prior to Allied BioScience, Craig worked in finance, planning, business development and management. A former executive in the automotive aftermarket industry, Craig investigated combining surface coating technology with microbiological science, the results of which led to Allied BioScience Inc. Craig has held the positions of vice president of business development for Environmental Service Professionals and president of Glas-Aire Industries, and worked with EGR corporation and Regency Affiliates (NASDAQ-RAFI).

Phil Boyd

Chief Financial Officer

Phil is a senior executive officer (CFO/COO) with 30 years of combined experience in both financial and operational business improvement. As a senior member of both publicly traded and closely held private companies, Phil is recognized as a strategic thought leader with the ability to deliver practical and effective business solutions in support of operational and financial goals. These business ventures have included medical device manufacture and distribution, telecommunications, managed health care and oil field services. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in Accounting, Phil is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and holds the Certified Management Accountant accreditation.

Jagath Kadurugamuwa, BSc, PhD.

Science Officer

Jagath Kadurugamuwa serves as Allied BioScience’s Science Officer. Prior to Allied Bioscience, Jagath spent his career in research and management of Infectious Diseases programs at the international level in academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and consumer industries. He has served as the Director Microbiology R&D Vision Care at Alcon Research, a Novartis company, Research Fellow at Clorox Company and as Director of Infectious Disease at Xenogen Corporation. Jagath earned his Ph.D. from University of Aston, Birmingham, England and a BSc degree in microbiology from the University of Surrey, Guildford, England.

Charles A. Geoffrion

Vice President of Business Development

Charles joined Allied BioScience in 2008 as chief science officer after serving as associate vice president for research at the University of Arizona, as well as posts as the associate dean of science for corporate and external affairs and the campus research integrity officer. He is a member of the Pima County Board of Health and has experience in numerous public-private sector collaborations in America and internationally.

Ingrida Grossman, M.S

Vice President of Technical Training

Ingrida has been with Allied BioScience since its inception, providing IT, technical, research and administrative support. Prior to ABS, Ingrida served as director of information systems for three different companies. She has 15 years’ experience in providing IT services, network maintenance and installations, website design, software support and training for business environments. She holds a degree in applied mathematics and a master’s degree in information systems.

Howard Smith

Vice President of IT

Howard has been in the IT and telecommunications sector for more than 30 years. He is responsible for all systems, infrastructure, applications and the continued growth, expansion and management of these areas to meet all requirements of the business. Before joining ABS, he served as vice president of IT with Airband Communications and as a member of the senior management team. Prior to that, Howard served as director of IT and infrastructure with Hawaiian Telcom.

Allied BioScience consults with some of the country’s leading scientific minds to deliver long-lasting solutions. Listed below are those distinguished scientists and academics currently serving on our scientific advisory board.

Alan Gao, Ph.D.

Dr. Gao is technical director and manager of the Genomics and Microarray Core Laboratory at the Cancer Center at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Gao’s research interests focus on understanding molecular mechanisms associated with progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastasis to bone with the goal of identification of potential therapeutic targets for prostate cancer. Dr. Gao has served numerous NCI, DOD and VA merits, and ACS review panels including SPORE and PPG study sections.

Charles P. Gerba, Ph.D.

Dr. Gerba is a professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science at the University of Arizona. He conducts research on the transmission of pathogens through the environment. His recent research encompasses the transmission of pathogens by water, food and fomites (surface contamination); fate of pathogens in land-applied wastes; development of new disinfectants; domestic microbiology; and microbial risk assessment. He is the author of more than 500 articles and several books on environmental microbiology, risk assessment and pollution science. Dr. Gerba is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Water Association. Brooks M. Hybertson, MBA, Ph.D.

Dr. Hybertson is a clinical associate professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His work has included basic and applied studies of oxygen radical chemistry and biology. He is an author of more than 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and is an inventor on seven issued patents. He also has been a principal investigator for research projects in materials science, clean technologies, supercritical fluids, oxidative stress, water treatment, disinfection, molecular biology, pulmonary science and biotechnology.

Daniel A. Moros, M.D.

Dr. Moros is associate clinical professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His specialization is in movement disorders and behavioral neurology. J. David Musgraves, Ph.D.

Dr. Musgraves teaches and conducts research in materials science at Clemson University. His area of research specialization involves photocatalytic properties of titanium-based materials. He served as a research assistant in the Materials Science & Engineering Department at the University of Arizona, where he developed techniques for a novel nanostructured thin-film deposition process. His research findings have been published in the Journal of Materials Research, the American Journal of Physics and in the proceedings of the Materials Research Society’s Symposium on Synthesis and Metrology of Nanoscale Oxides and Thin Films.

Elias A. Shaheen, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Shaheen recently retired from The Clorox Company where he served as a Research Director, Healthcare Division. At Clorox, he played a key role in developing and executing the environmental disinfection platform. He developed and managed extensive external network with leading academic experts that resulted in mutually beneficial and productive collaborations. Dr. Shaheen has a broad range of expertise in public health and environmental microbiology with more than 30 years of extensive experience with antimicrobial agents and disinfectants, infection control and prevention, open innovation and strategic planning. He holds 12 US patents in the area of environmental hygiene and disinfection and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, book chapters and technical papers. Prior to joining Clorox, Dr. Shaheen held positions with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical, Pillsbury, ARCO Chemical, and University of Florida.

Anthony F. Vuturo, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Vuturo is senior vice president for Canyon Ranch Health Resorts and was director of preventive medicine for the U.S. Civil Administration, a U.S. State Department program in Japan, and director of preventive medicine for Whitaker Corporation in Saudi Arabia. He is president of VSF International Ltd., a global health consulting firm. Dr. Vuturo is board certified in family practice, preventive medicine and medical management. He is a former professor and dean of health affairs for the College of Medicine at Arizona Health Science Center.

Ronald Wysocki Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Wysocki serves as program director of chemistry and biochemistry at The Ohio State University and was the director of the Chemical Synthesis Facility in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arizona. Formerly, he was chief scientist at Pharos Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Green Valley, Arizona; the senior chemist at Discovery Therapeutics Inc. in Richmond, Virginia; and the scientist and group leader for Whitby Research Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Wysocki’s research areas include organic thin films, transmembrane proteins and various aspects of spectroscopy. He holds several U.S. patents in his area of research.

Prior to ABS, Nigel served with the United Nations, including several posts at the assistant secretary-general level, most recently as Regional UN Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis. He also served for five years as president and CEO of UNICEF Canada. Widely recognized as a Canadian humanitarian, Nigel has received numerous awards and honors, including the Order of Canada (Officer); the Meritorious Service Cross; the Order of Ontario; the Pearson Peace Medal; the Canadian Medical Association Medal of Honour; and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from his alma mater, McMaster University.

Keith Tucker

Chairman of the Board

Keith is currently director and chairman of Century Bridge Capital, a real estate investment firm with offices in Dallas, Texas, and Beijing, China. He served as chairman and CEO of Waddell & Reed Financial Inc., a publicly held mutual fund complex (NYSE: WDR), bringing the firm’s assets under his management from $5 billion to more than $40 billion. Prior to this, Keith served as vice chairman of the board of Torchmark Corporation, a publicly held insurance, financial services and real estate development company (NYSE: TMK) and as a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Stefan Bernard Baumrin, Ph.D., J.D.

Stefan holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. He serves as an adviser to ABS and is a professor of medical education at the Mount Sinai Medical School, as well as a professor of philosophy at The Graduate Center at City University in New York. He is also a member of the Federal Bar and the Bar of the State of New York.

Hugh (Nick) Dallas

Co-Founder

Nick has served as director of Environmental Service Professionals Inc. and holds a Branch II and III operator’s license from the California Structural Pest Control Board. He is a member of the Indoor Environmental Standards Organization and is a certified IESO trainer. He assists ABS with field operations.

Daniel Moros, M.D.

Vice-Chairman, Scientific Affairs

Dr. Moros serves ABS as vice-chairman of scientific affairs. He is associate clinical professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His specialization is in movement disorders and behavioral neurology. He has spent many years in the pharmaceutical industry as vice chairman and medical director of Taro Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with responsibilities for generic and new drug development and regulatory affairs. In addition to being published in numerous publications in medical ethics and the philosophy of medicine, Dr. Moros has co-taught a graduate course in medical ethics at the City University of New York and Icahn School of Medicine for the last two decades.

George Peat

Vice-Chairman, International

George is a professional engineer (retired) with extensive experience in the refining and petrochemical sectors in the Far East, Europe and former Soviet Union. He served as vice president and general manager for a large engineering company in the Middle East. Peat sits on the University of British Columbia Chemical/Biological Engineering Industry Advisory Council, the advisory board of SG Biofuels, a developer of renewable biofuels in Latin and South America, and is on other for-profit and nonprofit boards. George has considerable experience with start-up companies. He serves as vice-chairman of international business development for ABS.

Dick Rothkopf

Dick brings over 45 years of experience in building successful, innovative companies. Prior to joining the board of Allied BioScience, Dick founded and cofounded a number of highly successful companies including Rothkopf Enterprises, Stand-buys, Learning Curve International and Ludorum. Dick also serves on a number of other corporate and not for profit boards and is a graduate of Cornell University.

Michael Ruley

Chief Executive Officer

Before joining Allied BioScience, Michael spent his career as a leader in the telecom industry. He has served as CEO of Airband Communications, Sparkplug Communications and Hawaiian Telcom. He also held posts as president and CEO of NextiraOne and several senior positions at XO Communications and Teleport Communications Group. He currently serves as a board member of Tissue Genesis.

Craig Grossman

Chief Technical Officer, Founder and Chairman Emeritus

Prior to Allied BioScience, Craig worked in finance, planning, business development and management. A former executive in the automotive aftermarket industry, Craig investigated combining surface coating technology with microbiological science, the results of which led to Allied BioScience Inc. Craig has held the positions of vice president of business development for Environmental Service Professionals and president of Glas-Aire Industries, and worked with EGR corporation and Regency Affiliates (NASDAQ-RAFI).

Phil Boyd

Chief Financial Officer

Phil is a senior executive officer (CFO/COO) with 30 years of combined experience in both financial and operational business improvement. As a senior member of both publicly traded and closely held private companies, Phil is recognized as a strategic thought leader with the ability to deliver practical and effective business solutions in support of operational and financial goals. These business ventures have included medical device manufacture and distribution, telecommunications, managed health care and oil field services. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in Accounting, Phil is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and holds the Certified Management Accountant accreditation.

Jagath Kadurugamuwa, BSc, PhD.

Science Officer

Jagath Kadurugamuwa serves as Allied BioScience’s Science Officer. Prior to Allied Bioscience, Jagath spent his career in research and management of Infectious Diseases programs at the international level in academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and consumer industries. He has served as the Director Microbiology R&D Vision Care at Alcon Research, a Novartis company, Research Fellow at Clorox Company and as Director of Infectious Disease at Xenogen Corporation. Jagath earned his Ph.D. from University of Aston, Birmingham, England and a BSc degree in microbiology from the University of Surrey, Guildford, England.

Charles A. Geoffrion

Vice President of Business Development

Charles joined Allied BioScience in 2008 as chief science officer after serving as associate vice president for research at the University of Arizona, as well as posts as the associate dean of science for corporate and external affairs and the campus research integrity officer. He is a member of the Pima County Board of Health and has experience in numerous public-private sector collaborations in America and internationally.

Ingrida Grossman, M.S

Vice President of Technical Training

Ingrida has been with Allied BioScience since its inception, providing IT, technical, research and administrative support. Prior to ABS, Ingrida served as director of information systems for three different companies. She has 15 years’ experience in providing IT services, network maintenance and installations, website design, software support and training for business environments. She holds a degree in applied mathematics and a master’s degree in information systems.

Howard Smith

Vice President of IT

Howard has been in the IT and telecommunications sector for more than 30 years. He is responsible for all systems, infrastructure, applications and the continued growth, expansion and management of these areas to meet all requirements of the business. Before joining ABS, he served as vice president of IT with Airband Communications and as a member of the senior management team. Prior to that, Howard served as director of IT and infrastructure with Hawaiian Telcom.

Alan Gao, Ph.D.

Dr. Gao is technical director and manager of the Genomics and Microarray Core Laboratory at the Cancer Center at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Gao’s research interests focus on understanding molecular mechanisms associated with progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastasis to bone with the goal of identification of potential therapeutic targets for prostate cancer. Dr. Gao has served numerous NCI, DOD and VA merits, and ACS review panels including SPORE and PPG study sections.

Charles P. Gerba, Ph.D.

Dr. Gerba is a professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science at the University of Arizona. He conducts research on the transmission of pathogens through the environment. His recent research encompasses the transmission of pathogens by water, food and fomites (surface contamination); fate of pathogens in land-applied wastes; development of new disinfectants; domestic microbiology; and microbial risk assessment. He is the author of more than 500 articles and several books on environmental microbiology, risk assessment and pollution science. Dr. Gerba is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Water Association. Brooks M. Hybertson, MBA, Ph.D.

Dr. Hybertson is a clinical associate professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His work has included basic and applied studies of oxygen radical chemistry and biology. He is an author of more than 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and is an inventor on seven issued patents. He also has been a principal investigator for research projects in materials science, clean technologies, supercritical fluids, oxidative stress, water treatment, disinfection, molecular biology, pulmonary science and biotechnology.

Daniel A. Moros, M.D.

J. David Musgraves, Ph.D.

Dr. Musgraves teaches and conducts research in materials science at Clemson University. His area of research specialization involves photocatalytic properties of titanium-based materials. He served as a research assistant in the Materials Science & Engineering Department at the University of Arizona, where he developed techniques for a novel nanostructured thin-film deposition process. His research findings have been published in the Journal of Materials Research, the American Journal of Physics and in the proceedings of the Materials Research Society’s Symposium on Synthesis and Metrology of Nanoscale Oxides and Thin Films.

Elias A. Shaheen, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Shaheen recently retired from The Clorox Company where he served as a Research Director, Healthcare Division. At Clorox, he played a key role in developing and executing the environmental disinfection platform. He developed and managed extensive external network with leading academic experts that resulted in mutually beneficial and productive collaborations. Dr. Shaheen has a broad range of expertise in public health and environmental microbiology with more than 30 years of extensive experience with antimicrobial agents and disinfectants, infection control and prevention, open innovation and strategic planning. He holds 12 US patents in the area of environmental hygiene and disinfection and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, book chapters and technical papers. Prior to joining Clorox, Dr. Shaheen held positions with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical, Pillsbury, ARCO Chemical, and University of Florida.

Anthony F. Vuturo, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Vuturo is senior vice president for Canyon Ranch Health Resorts and was director of preventive medicine for the U.S. Civil Administration, a U.S. State Department program in Japan, and director of preventive medicine for Whitaker Corporation in Saudi Arabia. He is president of VSF International Ltd., a global health consulting firm. Dr. Vuturo is board certified in family practice, preventive medicine and medical management. He is a former professor and dean of health affairs for the College of Medicine at Arizona Health Science Center.

Ronald Wysocki Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Wysocki serves as program director of chemistry and biochemistry at The Ohio State University and was the director of the Chemical Synthesis Facility in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arizona. Formerly, he was chief scientist at Pharos Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Green Valley, Arizona; the senior chemist at Discovery Therapeutics Inc. in Richmond, Virginia; and the scientist and group leader for Whitby Research Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Wysocki’s research areas include organic thin films, transmembrane proteins and various aspects of spectroscopy. He holds several U.S. patents in his area of research.

Our History

Allied BioScience is a company with deep roots in basic environmental science. Since its inception, the primary goal of ABS is to find a way to develop surface coating technology to create a formulation that provides a long-lasting solution to maintain clean surfaces.

By 2008, the company had enlisted the help of some of America’s leading scientific minds in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology and material sciences to help formulate an effective and long-lasting surface coating that today is known as SurfaceWise. Allied BioScience is governed by a distinguished board of directors who bring seasoned corporate experience and vision to ABS to assist in product development and business management. ABS’ board leverages this experience toward the common goal of creating best practices in the development of long-lasting surface protection technology.

Keith Tucker

Chairman of the Board

Keith is currently director and chairman of Century Bridge Capital, a real estate investment firm with offices in Dallas, Texas, and Beijing, China. He served as chairman and CEO of Waddell & Reed Financial Inc., a publicly held mutual fund complex (NYSE: WDR), bringing the firm’s assets under his management from $5 billion to more than $40 billion. Prior to this, Keith served as vice chairman of the board of Torchmark Corporation, a publicly held insurance, financial services and real estate development company (NYSE: TMK) and as a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick.

Stefan Bernard Baumrin, Ph.D., J.D.

Stefan holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. He serves as an adviser to ABS and is a professor of medical education at the Mount Sinai Medical School, as well as a professor of philosophy at The Graduate Center at City University in New York. He is also a member of the Federal Bar and the Bar of the State of New York.

Hugh (Nick) Dallas

Co-Founder

Nick has served as director of Environmental Service Professionals Inc. and holds a Branch II and III operator’s license from the California Structural Pest Control Board. He is a member of the Indoor Environmental Standards Organization and is a certified IESO trainer. He assists ABS with field operations.

Daniel Moros, M.D.

Vice-Chairman, Scientific Affairs

Dr. Moros serves ABS as vice-chairman of scientific affairs. He is associate clinical professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His specialization is in movement disorders and behavioral neurology. He has spent many years in the pharmaceutical industry as vice chairman and medical director of Taro Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. with responsibilities for generic and new drug development and regulatory affairs. In addition to being published in numerous publications in medical ethics and the philosophy of medicine, Dr. Moros has co-taught a graduate course in medical ethics at the City University of New York and Icahn School of Medicine for the last two decades.

George Peat

Vice-Chairman, International

George is a professional engineer (retired) with extensive experience in the refining and petrochemical sectors in the Far East, Europe and former Soviet Union. He served as vice president and general manager for a large engineering company in the Middle East. Peat sits on the University of British Columbia Chemical/Biological Engineering Industry Advisory Council, the advisory board of SG Biofuels, a developer of renewable biofuels in Latin and South America, and is on other for-profit and nonprofit boards. George has considerable experience with start-up companies. He serves as vice-chairman of international business development for ABS.

Dick Rothkopf

Dick brings over 45 years of experience in building successful, innovative companies. Prior to joining the board of Allied BioScience, Dick founded and cofounded a number of highly successful companies including Rothkopf Enterprises, Stand-buys, Learning Curve International and Ludorum. Dick also serves on a number of other corporate and not for profit boards and is a graduate of Cornell University.

Michael Ruley

Chief Executive Officer

Before joining Allied BioScience, Michael spent his career as a leader in the telecom industry. He has served as CEO of Airband Communications, Sparkplug Communications and Hawaiian Telcom. He also held posts as president and CEO of NextiraOne and several senior positions at XO Communications and Teleport Communications Group. He currently serves as a board member of Tissue Genesis.

Craig Grossman

Chief Technical Officer, Founder and Chairman Emeritus

Prior to Allied BioScience, Craig worked in finance, planning, business development and management. A former executive in the automotive aftermarket industry, Craig investigated combining surface coating technology with microbiological science, the results of which led to Allied BioScience Inc. Craig has held the positions of vice president of business development for Environmental Service Professionals and president of Glas-Aire Industries, and worked with EGR corporation and Regency Affiliates (NASDAQ-RAFI).

Phil Boyd

Chief Financial Officer

Phil is a senior executive officer (CFO/COO) with 30 years of combined experience in both financial and operational business improvement. As a senior member of both publicly traded and closely held private companies, Phil is recognized as a strategic thought leader with the ability to deliver practical and effective business solutions in support of operational and financial goals. These business ventures have included medical device manufacture and distribution, telecommunications, managed health care and oil field services. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.S. in Accounting, Phil is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of Texas and holds the Certified Management Accountant accreditation.

Jagath Kadurugamuwa, BSc, PhD.

Science Officer

Jagath Kadurugamuwa serves as Allied BioScience’s Science Officer. Prior to Allied Bioscience, Jagath spent his career in research and management of Infectious Diseases programs at the international level in academia, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, food and consumer industries. He has served as the Director Microbiology R&D Vision Care at Alcon Research, a Novartis company, Research Fellow at Clorox Company and as Director of Infectious Disease at Xenogen Corporation. Jagath earned his Ph.D. from University of Aston, Birmingham, England and a BSc degree in microbiology from the University of Surrey, Guildford, England.

Charles A. Geoffrion

Vice President of Business Development

Charles joined Allied BioScience in 2008 as chief science officer after serving as associate vice president for research at the University of Arizona, as well as posts as the associate dean of science for corporate and external affairs and the campus research integrity officer. He is a member of the Pima County Board of Health and has experience in numerous public-private sector collaborations in America and internationally.

Ingrida Grossman, M.S

Vice President of Technical Training

Ingrida has been with Allied BioScience since its inception, providing IT, technical, research and administrative support. Prior to ABS, Ingrida served as director of information systems for three different companies. She has 15 years’ experience in providing IT services, network maintenance and installations, website design, software support and training for business environments. She holds a degree in applied mathematics and a master’s degree in information systems.

Howard Smith

Vice President of IT

Howard has been in the IT and telecommunications sector for more than 30 years. He is responsible for all systems, infrastructure, applications and the continued growth, expansion and management of these areas to meet all requirements of the business. Before joining ABS, he served as vice president of IT with Airband Communications and as a member of the senior management team. Prior to that, Howard served as director of IT and infrastructure with Hawaiian Telcom.

Alan Gao, Ph.D.

Dr. Gao is technical director and manager of the Genomics and Microarray Core Laboratory at the Cancer Center at the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Gao’s research interests focus on understanding molecular mechanisms associated with progression of castration-resistant prostate cancer and metastasis to bone with the goal of identification of potential therapeutic targets for prostate cancer. Dr. Gao has served numerous NCI, DOD and VA merits, and ACS review panels including SPORE and PPG study sections.

Charles P. Gerba, Ph.D.

Dr. Gerba is a professor in the Department of Soil, Water and Environmental Science at the University of Arizona. He conducts research on the transmission of pathogens through the environment. His recent research encompasses the transmission of pathogens by water, food and fomites (surface contamination); fate of pathogens in land-applied wastes; development of new disinfectants; domestic microbiology; and microbial risk assessment. He is the author of more than 500 articles and several books on environmental microbiology, risk assessment and pollution science. Dr. Gerba is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the International Water Association. Brooks M. Hybertson, MBA, Ph.D.

Dr. Hybertson is a clinical associate professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. His work has included basic and applied studies of oxygen radical chemistry and biology. He is an author of more than 45 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters and is an inventor on seven issued patents. He also has been a principal investigator for research projects in materials science, clean technologies, supercritical fluids, oxidative stress, water treatment, disinfection, molecular biology, pulmonary science and biotechnology.

Daniel A. Moros, M.D.

Dr. Moros is associate clinical professor of neurology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. His specialization is in movement disorders and behavioral neurology. J. David Musgraves, Ph.D.

Dr. Musgraves teaches and conducts research in materials science at Clemson University. His area of research specialization involves photocatalytic properties of titanium-based materials. He served as a research assistant in the Materials Science & Engineering Department at the University of Arizona, where he developed techniques for a novel nanostructured thin-film deposition process. His research findings have been published in the Journal of Materials Research, the American Journal of Physics and in the proceedings of the Materials Research Society’s Symposium on Synthesis and Metrology of Nanoscale Oxides and Thin Films.

Elias A. Shaheen, Ph.D., MBA

Dr. Shaheen recently retired from The Clorox Company where he served as a Research Director, Healthcare Division. At Clorox, he played a key role in developing and executing the environmental disinfection platform. He developed and managed extensive external network with leading academic experts that resulted in mutually beneficial and productive collaborations. Dr. Shaheen has a broad range of expertise in public health and environmental microbiology with more than 30 years of extensive experience with antimicrobial agents and disinfectants, infection control and prevention, open innovation and strategic planning. He holds 12 US patents in the area of environmental hygiene and disinfection and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers, abstracts, book chapters and technical papers. Prior to joining Clorox, Dr. Shaheen held positions with Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical, Pillsbury, ARCO Chemical, and University of Florida.

Anthony F. Vuturo, M.D., M.P.H.

Dr. Vuturo is senior vice president for Canyon Ranch Health Resorts and was director of preventive medicine for the U.S. Civil Administration, a U.S. State Department program in Japan, and director of preventive medicine for Whitaker Corporation in Saudi Arabia. He is president of VSF International Ltd., a global health consulting firm. Dr. Vuturo is board certified in family practice, preventive medicine and medical management. He is a former professor and dean of health affairs for the College of Medicine at Arizona Health Science Center.

Ronald Wysocki Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Wysocki serves as program director of chemistry and biochemistry at The Ohio State University and was the director of the Chemical Synthesis Facility in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Arizona. Formerly, he was chief scientist at Pharos Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Green Valley, Arizona; the senior chemist at Discovery Therapeutics Inc. in Richmond, Virginia; and the scientist and group leader for Whitby Research Inc. in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Wysocki’s research areas include organic thin films, transmembrane proteins and various aspects of spectroscopy. He holds several U.S. patents in his area of research.
